Smith's first book, A CONFEDERACY OF HORRORS, will appear in September of 2001 from Stone Dragon Press. This collection will include more than twenty of the author's finest tales of horror and fantasy, a combination of reprints and new stories. The introduction is by Stoker Award-winning writer Steve Bissette, with stunning cover art and interior illustrations by well-known horror artist, Harry Fassl.
Smith's latest work to appear in print was the KLYDE & MERIEM ONE-SHOT, a one issue spinoff of the popular CAVEWOMAN comic. This comic features a pair of stories starring Budd Root's giant ape, Klyde, along with his voluptuous co-star, Meriem, (Root's famous CAVEWOMAN). The book sold well and has been well-received. Smith's next projects for Basement Comics include a pair of creator-owned books, NEANDERGAL (with artist Loston Wallace, who illustrated KLYDE & MERIEM), and JOHNNY 13 (with comic artist Newton Burcham).
The Basement also has plans to publish Smith's novel, THE FLOCK, with cover art by Basement founder, Budd Root.
